A. R. Rahman, as many of you will doubtless know by now, has won the Golden Globe award for best original score (link)! And what a nice way for me to break blog silence…here’s one of the many videos that Rahman fans are uploading (thanks, Aravind):

There were some serious questions about how they should pronounce his name, I see, but it’s nice to see. Did you also see how nonplussed most of the audience looked when Shahrukh Khan was presenting, yet the kid from Slumdog Millionaire had sparkles in his eyes, making him the only person in the room who seemed to know how big Khan is. A long way for Hollywood to go. Mind you, better that, I suppose, than Hollywood “discovering” Bollywood via Keanu Reeves and Bruce Willis deciding to do a remake of Lagaan, right?
